In addition, in order that portraits do not look like they were all taken on the same day, I encourage clothing changes. Some clothes look better and are more flattering than others. It will also elicit different expressions of you (relaxed, glamorous, playful, etc.). Often times, we may not realize this until we see it in a photograph. Why is Naturally Photography unique? Because I not only know how to take portraits, but I also have fun doing it. I love what I do and that enthusiasm is infectious. I schedule only 1 -2 portrait sessions per day and I do not overbook myself. It is important to me that I am fresh and ready to work every time. Things I Enjoy I love swimming and yoga A big glass of iced tea in the morning is essential Spending time with my family Exercising my dogs Everything else is a bonus. My Background I knew I wanted to be a photographer from the time I was in high school. In 1972 there weren’t many women photographers. So, when a woman answered the door as I walked into a studio for a passport photo, I couldn’t believe she owned the studio! She encouraged me to study at Brooks Institute in Santa Barbara. In 1978 I graduated and had dreams of becoming the greatest photographer ever. However, when I got married and pregnant that same year, I put my dream on hold while I raised my 4 children. I continued to hone my craft while cataloging their lives, their friends’ lives and our world through my photographs. Once my youngest received her driver’s license, I embarked on my career as a photographer. Having come up with the idea of “Naturally Photography" while at Brooks, I was finally able to make it a reality. And it has since filled a void in my life with my children grown and no longer dependant upon me.
