How to Prepare
When we capture your milestone moments, we, too, feel like they are important moments in our life. Each portrait session is unique. Every person, every family and every moment cannot be duplicated. While most portrait sessions take approximately 2 hours, there is no timeframe. Often, it takes some time for people to even get comfortable in front of a camera. Feedings, diaper changes, tantrums and breaks are all part of the process; we work as a team. Therefore, we don't rush and we won't rush you.
What should I wear?
The focus is on you, not on your clothes. Here are some tips that will help bring out your best in a photograph.
Solid colors in basic hues work best. Avoid clothing with distractions such as words and logos. Dark or nude shoes are best. We recommend a manicure to tidy up cuticles and moisturize skin.
Group portraits should select coordinated colors and tones. However, it is not necessary for the entire group to "match".
Ladies should choose tanks, off-the-shoulder tops, 3/4 length and long sleeves. Please do not wear t-shirt length sleeves. Worn gym shoes are distracting. Flat ironed hair does not photograph well. Avoid heavy eyeliner. Keep your makeup natural looking, unless a more dramatic look is desired (i.e. boudoir.) A make-up artist is available for an additional fee.
Men look best in solid colored sweaters, t-shirts, polos, dress shirts, and dark shoes. No shorts or worn gym shoes please.
Please bring multiple outfits. We encourage wardrobe changes. Sometimes some outfits do not photograph as well as they look in person. It is important to bring many options to create flattering looks without compromising your personal style.
